So without further ado, here are the articles on Placencia we believe you should read right now:

Things to Do in Placencia, Belize

Belize is a travel destination offering a richness and range that makes it an irresistible choice for adventurers and nature lovers. This small Central American coastal nation is multiethnic, with Mayan, Creole, Garifuna peoples living peaceably in together in a natural paradise of rain forests, and coastal island. Up to 60% of Belize is in forest which combined with a low population density makes it a major ecological destination.

Why Now Is the Time to Move to Placencia, Belize

Those who visit Belize frequently return from their travels in awe of the country, its landscape, and its ecological wealth.  Many describe this Caribbean nation as a place where Mother Nature has outdone herself.

Not only is it breathtakingly gorgeous and a nature lover’s dream, it’s also affordable and offers that distinct laid-back Caribbean vibe that so many tourists and expats crave.  However, not every destination in the country offers all of these characteristics.

Belize to Hold Third Annual End of the World Marathon

For many, the end of the 13th Baktun in the Maya Long Count Calendar, December 21, 2012, was a prediction of end times. Didn’t happen. To commemorate the event, the annual “End of the World Marathon” was organized in Belize, the heart of the Maya civilization.

This year’s marathon is scheduled for December 7 in picturesque Placencia, a town nestled up against the white powdery beaches and azure waters of the Caribbean Sea.

More of Placencia Village, a Sunset Cruise and Uber-Cute Casa Placencia

Okay…so in my previous post, I left off in Placencia sipping soda waters in the Barefoot Bar trying to cool off.  The almost noon time sun was HOT!

I headed back out.  The village was so quiet…and lovely.  A few places are closed for the season – most importantly my FAVORITE ice cream place.  Everyone’s favorite ice cream spot – Tutti Frutti Gelato.

Barefoot luxury in Placencia, Belize – Chabil Mar Villas

The driver took us a short way along this narrow peninsula that is Placencia, through the heavy, expertly carved, gigantic wooden gates and into this eye-popping lush tropical paradise. We had arrived at Chabil Mar.

The first thing I noticed was the verdant, tropical landscaping, flowers, shrubs, trees everywhere, and the ever present coconut palms lining the pristine, white sand beach. The next was the friendliness of the staff, including the driver that picked us up and took us there.
