It’s off the radar for most buyers, but the tiny Central American nation’s appeal is growing
The Coppolas are not the only movie A-listers who have felt compelled to create their own paradise in this corner of the Caribbean. Leonardo DiCaprio has invested in a project on Blackadore Caye, an unpopulated 104-acre island just west of Ambergris Caye. Building work on his eco-resort — and on 36 luxurious villas that are due to go on sale — was expected to start last year.
As with many a Hollywood project, exact details of what’s on offer are sketchy, and there are no updates on progress from the site.
