On Christmas afternoon, the Garifuna community perform their traditional Joncunu dance. Later in the day, the Grand Ball is held featuring traditional dances like the Foxtrot, Quadrille, Waltz, and other formal ballroom dances.



Las Posadas

Beginning on December 16, Catholic communities in Belize parade the statues of Mary and Joseph through town in a re-creation of the Biblical search for room at the inn.

Toledo District

The modern Maya perform an ancient traditional ceremony known as the Deer Dance on Christmas where 24 dancers in a variety of masks re-enact a classic story.

Weather in Belize in December

Expect lots of sunshine and balmy temperatures with daytime highs averaging around 80 degrees Fahrenheit (27 C) and lows around 72 degrees Fahrenheit (23C).
