Belize voted the "8th Friendliest Country on the Planet" in CNT's 2022 Readers' Choice Awards

Some people believe that no matter where you go in the world, you will never find a place as welcome as your own house, but we don’t believe this to be the case. Many countries on this planet are known for their warm hospitality, from the people of Sri Lanka, who are known for their constant smiles, to the people of New Zealand, who are famous for their open arms, and these people are ready to share the love that they have for their country with you. As a result, for the 2022 Readers’ Choice Awards, Conde Nast Traveler put the question to their audience once more, asking them to select the nations that, in their opinion, are home to the nicest people.

Belize was voted as one of the friendliest countries on the planet, taking 8th position due to its welcoming locals, breathtaking scenery, and diverse cultural offerings in the 2022 Readers’ Choice Awards. Condé Nast’s announcement of the award cited Belize’s unique combination of people, cultures, adventures, and landscapes; diving off the pristine Barrier Reef; hiking in Bocawina National Park, and baking cassava bread in Hopkins Village as examples of what makes the country special.

Condé Nast also ranked Belize as the 32nd best country in the world, citing the country’s welcoming atmosphere and low crime rate. The report also named Ambergris Caye the fourth-best island in Central and South America. In addition, the Matachica Resort & Spa was placed sixth, the Hamanasi Adventure & Dive Resort was ranked seventh, and the Turneffe Island Resort was ranked tenth in the Top 10 Resorts in Central America that was included in the Condé Nast Traveler Reader’s Choice magazine.

The Belize Tourism Board (BTB) is quite proud of our country’s achievements, and they would want to use this occasion to extend their congratulations to the highest-rated Belizean resorts for the excellent work that they have done. The BTB reaffirms its dedication to maintaining its position as the nation’s primary tourism promotion and marketing organization.
