A shocking discovery at the ancient Maya site of Caracol has the archaeological world reeling. Researchers, led by renowned anthropologist Dr. Isabella Xiu, have unearthed what appears to be a previously unknown structure deep beneath the site’s famed Caana pyramid. Early analysis suggests the structure may be a Maya-engineered time portal.
“The implications are staggering,” Dr. Xiu explains. “This could rewrite our entire understanding of the Maya, their technological capabilities, and their relationship to time itself.”
The structure seems to be comprised of a complex series of interlocking chambers and features intricate carvings unlike any previously documented Maya iconography. Speculation centers on a large, circular stone disc adorned with unfamiliar symbols and a pulsating energy source of unknown origin.

“We’re still in the very preliminary stages,” cautions Dr. Xiu. “We need to carefully translate the glyphs and analyze the power source before we can determine if this is simply an extraordinary feat of engineering or something far more profound.”
The Belize government has placed the Caracol site under high security while a team of international experts assemble to investigate the potential time portal further.
Intrigued adventurers are advised that guided tours to Caracol will, unfortunately, remain suspended indefinitely. However, rumors of a fluctuating spacetime continuum near the pyramid complex have already begun to swirl – prompting a surge of curiosity and a hint of temporal tourism.
Important Note: While we all wish this astounding discovery was real, remember the date! Happy April Fool’s Day, Belize. Let’s just hope we haven’t inadvertently torn open the fabric of reality.
