Air Canada launches new direct flight to Belize from Toronto

Canadian travellers will now have easy access to the tropical paradise, Belize, through Air Canada’s new direct flights from Toronto.

Starting December 15, 2017,  Canadians will only be one flight away from Belize’s pristine jungles, exotic beaches, breath taking Maya ruins, and world class luxury resorts.

Air Canada announced the new flights to Belize, this week, among five other new routes, as a part of the airlines expansion of network routes. Those new routes include flights to destinations in the United States- Arizona and Orlando; the Caribbean- St. Vincent and Belize; Australia- Melbourne; and South America- Peru.

The new route provides more options for both leisure and business opportunities for Canadian travellers. Tickets for the new flights are already available for purchase, through travel agents, or via the company’s website, aircanada.com.

Canada is the third largest consumer of Belize’s tourism product, representing some 7 percent of all visitors; however, tourism stakeholders in both countries have been aiming to increase that figure. The new flights to Belize, form a part of an increasing push on behalf of both countries to connect with each other.

Director of the Belize Tourism Board, Karen Bevans, emphasized that making Belize more accessible to Canadian visitors through increased direct flights, is sure to be a boon to the country’s tourism industry.

President, Passenger Airlines at Air Canada, Benjamin Smith, described the new routes as new choices for travellers looking to escape Canadian winters.

The new flights will be seasonal and will operate as follows. The Vancouver-Melbourne will start on December 1, 2017 and fly four times weekly until February 4, 2018, using the aircraft Boeing 787-9 (mainline).
