As the winter season approaches and vacationers are looking for that perfect escape, Belize, and in particular, the tiny island of San Pedro, Ambergris Caye has done it once more by being named among the top 6 luxury fishing destinations in the world by Luxury Travel Magazine.
The island, though only 25 miles in length and spreading a little over a mile wide, with a population of 14,000 persons was able to attract the attention of Luxury Travel Magazine which has a circulation of over 50, 000 readers for each of its quarterly publications. Luxury Travel Magazine is among the top trusted online sources for luxury travel experiences and in its latest issue encourages its readers to check out the one-of-a-kind fishing experience that Ambergris Caye has to offer by nature.
‘’Belize is a place that looks like paradise. Anglers can get their private villa and enjoy the day sitting on the porch with their feet almost in the water, fishing and waiting for the biggest catch. There are no rough rides through the ocean, and you can dip inside the water anytime. The crystal-clear waters show what’s underneath the surface, so you can easily adjust the equipment for the right type of fish, ‘’ noted the article. But while the article focused on the fishing experience that is available, it also pointed out that once travelers have grown weary of fishing for the day they can easily retreat inside their cottage and relax with some technology, a book, or just simply choose one of their favorite ways to pass time.
While the magazine pointed out the fact that every passionate angler enjoys the time spent in a boat with enough rods trying to catch the most spectacular fish in the ocean, lake, or river. ‘’There’s something about fishing that makes people happy, but not all destinations allow the perfect experience.’’ For that reason, the magazine said that they compiled the list to act as a compass for anglers to find that one-of-a-kind experience. While the publication said that they would refrain from reviewing guides, in particular, they will simply stick to destinations that are formed by nature and those that are accessible to the public.
With Belize topping off that list, the selection also included 4UR Ranch in Creede Colorado, Langara Island in British Columbia, Canada, Sicily in Italy, Sitka Sound in Alaska USA, and Lizard Island in Queensland Australia.
It is no surprise that Belize, known for its tropical climate, was able to make it among the top spots in that selection. As all local anglers would tell you, due to its amazing weather, the fishing experience in Belize varies from great to superb. Anglers can visit any of the crystal clear flats to fish for bonefish, permit, and tarpon, or head out to the open sea to look for jacks, snappers, groupers, and barracuda.
