Getting to Belize from the United States is about to get easier for travelers in the Carolinas. BermudAir has announced it will begin nonstop flights between Raleigh-Durham International Airport and Belize this December, opening a new gateway for visitors heading to the Jewel.
The Belize route is part of a seasonal expansion by the Bermuda-based carrier, which is also adding nonstop service to Turks and Caicos. Flights to both destinations will run from December 20, 2026, to May 2, 2027 — timed to give North American travelers an easy escape during the winter months.
BermudAir will fly to Belize twice a week, on Thursdays and Sundays, using an Embraer 190. Travelers eager to book can do so starting Friday, June 5, when tickets go on sale.
The airline says the move reflects strong demand for Caribbean travel. “We’re thrilled to continue expanding our Caribbean network as the premium leisure carrier from North America,” said founder and CEO Adam Scott, pointing to the airline’s high customer satisfaction scores.
For Raleigh-Durham, the new flights are a welcome addition. Board chair Tammie Hall-Roberts said the routes give the region more options for Caribbean getaways and let passengers spend less time traveling and more time enjoying their trip. The additions bring RDU’s network to 89 nonstop domestic and international destinations across 18 airlines.
For Belize, the new connection means another direct pipeline of visitors from a growing U.S. market, welcome news for an economy that leans heavily on tourism.
