KIMBERLY LOCKE Reporting: The first ever Maya Mountain Adventure Challenge is set to commence on Thursday morning in the Cayo district.

The race opens at 10:01 am on Thursday and will remain open for four grueling days.

According to organizers, the race will utilize mountain biking, canoeing, rappelling, spelunking and hiking on a route that will take participants from Cahal Pech in San Ignacio town, through the Mountain Pine Ridge, down the Macal River and back up the Cahal Pech hill.
