Southwest Airlines launches new flights to Belize from Fort Lauderdale and Denver

It has never been easier to get away to Belize for a tropical dream vacation. There are already a number of direct flights to and from Belize from various major cities in North America and now two new routes have been added to that growing list.

Southwest Airlines recently announced new direct flights to Belize from Fort Lauderdale, Florida and Denver, Colorado. According to Southwest, these flights will connect the eastern half of the United States through Fort Lauderdale and will make Belize easily accessible to travelers in places like Baltimore, New York, Atlanta, Orlando, Tampa and Washington D.C.

The Fort Lauderdale flights are expected to begin on June 4 and are available for booking already. Plus with airfares as low as $79 each way, this is definitely the time to plan that new year’s vacation of a lifetime to Belize. These new flights are worth taking advantage of, especially since there is so much to do and see in Belize.

The country has recently been named on several “Best of 2017”, lists from leading travel publications including the New York Times and Lonely Planet. Belize, once Mother Nature’s best kept secret, is all the rage in travel circles these days because of its unique blend of Caribbean and Latin American culture. The country, geographically, enjoys the best of both worlds, sitting just to the east of Guatemala with rich, lush jungle and mountain scenery just miles away from pristine beach and coastline settings.

Visitors can enjoy activities including cave-tubing or island-tubing (yes that’s a thing), hiking, bicycle riding, bird watching, zip-lining, snorkeling, scuba diving or any of a number of nature related tours. Let’s not forget Belize’s rich cultural history, visitors can explore ancient Mayan ruins and learn the secrets of the lost ancient Mayan civilization. With so much to do, and with tourism expected to see significant growth in Belize throughout 2017, it’s worth getting in on the action early.

Apart from being a world class destination with top notch resorts and hotels, Belize is insanely affordable. Food, transport and lodging are all very affordable and that doesn’t mean skipping on the quality. There are tons of award winning resorts across the country, especially in ideal coastline towns like Placencia and San Pedro, Ambergris Caye.
