Belize Welcomes Spirit Airlines’ Inaugural Flight from Fort Lauderdale

Belize has officially welcomed the arrival of Spirit Airlines’ inaugural nonstop flight from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, marking an exciting new chapter in the country’s growing air connectivity. This long-awaited service establishes the only nonstop link between Fort Lauderdale–Hollywood International Airport (FLL) and Philip S. W. Goldson International Airport (BZE), operating three times weekly on Mondays, Fridays, and Saturdays.

As Belize continues to strengthen its position as one of the region’s most captivating destinations, this new route opens the door for more travelers to reach the Jewel with ease, affordability, and greater convenience.

The Belize Tourism Board (BTB) celebrated the arrival, highlighting the importance of Spirit’s new service for both leisure and visiting-friends-and-relatives travel.

This inaugural flight represents another milestone in expanding our reach, and we look forward to welcoming Spirit’s guests to discover why our jewel continues to be one of the region’s most captivating destinations.”

Greater Accessibility for U.S. Travelers and Belizeans Alike

With this new nonstop connection, travelers from Florida and the broader East Coast now have a smoother and more affordable way to reach Belize’s beaches, jungle lodges, Maya sites, and island escapes. The schedule makes it ideal for weekend trips, holiday travel, and spontaneous getaways.
