3 Ways to Experience the Best of Belize

Experience the best of Belize

Belize is home to some of the most pristine rainforests in the world, as well as a variety of wildlife. The country also has a rich Maya heritage, and visitors can explore one of the largest reefs here. Below are 3 unique experiences you should have in Belize:

1. Spend time in nature

Belize is one of the countries that have enacted many environmental laws. These laws see to it that the country’s natural and cultural heritage is protected. As a result, you’ll find many lush jungles and rainforests here that are worth visiting. While in Belize you can’t miss an adventurous activity to participate in. For example, you could go visit the famous Maya Ruins. One of the caves you should explore is the Actun Tunichil Muknal (ATM). You will get a guided tour as you trek through the jungle and rivers before entering the mouth of the cave. Alternatively, if you prefer a thrilling adventure, you can go for zip lining and cave tubing at the Nohoch Che’en Caves Branch archaeological reserve.

2. Interact with the friendly locals

Belize is considered a friendly country and recently, it was voted as one of the top friendly places on earth. This is thanks to the people living in the country and how they interact with visitors. The majority of the people inhabiting the country are of African or mixed African and European descent. There are also smaller populations of Maya, East Indian, Chinese, and other groups. As a result, the culture is a mix of many different influences from the Maya, African, British, and Latin American cultures. The country is also home to several languages, including English, Spanish, Maya, and Creole. Being home to these diverse groups allows you to meet and interact with different people of various cultures.
