Itz’ana Resort in Belize now accepting reservations for December opening

Itz’ana Resort & Residences in Placencia, Belize, is pleased to announce the launch of bookings on its website, with availability starting December 15. The highly anticipated resort will be the first of its kind in the Caribbean, unveiling a new genre of hospitality called Mission-Driven Luxury. The concept offers guests authentic experiences that sustain the region’s indigenous culture and natural environment, paired with unique high-design elements and experiences from a collection of the best artists, designers, archeologists and more.  Our mission is to not only sustain the beauty of our natural surroundings, but add to it, giving back to the community, its people, as well as our environment.

“Itz’ana is unlike anything travelers have ever seen in the Caribbean,” said Colin Hannan, co-founder and managing director at Itz’ana Resort & Residences. “We’re committed to going above and beyond what’s expected of a beachfront resort, and we believe that giving back to the local community and environment while also offering an enhanced luxury experience will make Itz’ana unlike any other hotel.”

The resort will open with 16 deluxe suites and two beachfront suites. Guests will be among the first to experience the resort’s Great House, a Hemingway-inspired gathering place for amazing cuisine and programming located in the heart of the property, where they can dine at Limilia, enjoy light bites and cocktails at Biblio Bar and taste rums from around the world at the Rum Room, which boasts one of the largest selections of rum in the country. An additional 32 resort suites including two penthouses will come online through 2018, along with 46 waterfront residences.

Designed by architect Roberto de Oliveira Castro, Itz’ana Resort & Residences touts a chic, tropical ambiance amplified with interiors by New York interior designer, Samuel Amoia. The spaces feature custom furnishings produced by local artisans and one-of-a-kind vintage pieces sourced from markets throughout Central America. The vibrant interiors designed and curated by Amoia will be complemented with stunning murals hand-painted by artist George Venson of Voutsa. His work will adorn the ceiling of the gift shop and walls of the reception area, Rum Room and guest suites.

Guests looking to travel to Placencia, lauded by The New York Times as an up-and-coming destination, will be able to book their stay online now. Accommodations at Itz’ana include king-size beds, natural cotton-knit towels, robes and linens, a custom-painted mural, 49” LCD TV, custom organic bath products and exceptional water views from every room.

Room rates start at $325/night for a deluxe suite.
