Getting to Belize is about to get a lot easier. A wave of new routes from the United States, Canada and Europe is set to launch over the next year, opening fresh gateways for travelers heading to the reef, rainforest and ancient Maya sites. Here’s what’s new and when it starts.
BermudAir launches five new US routes
BermudAir is bringing nonstop service to Belize City from five US cities this winter: Boston, Raleigh Durham, Tampa Bay, Fort Lauderdale and Orlando Sanford. Fort Lauderdale service began October 26, 2026, with the remaining routes launching between December 18 and 21. The seasonal flights operate on Embraer 190 aircraft and run into early May 2027.
Boston flights operate twice weekly on Wednesdays and Saturdays, Raleigh Durham on Thursdays and Sundays, and Orlando Sanford up to twice weekly on Mondays and Thursdays. For each of these cities, BermudAir is the only airline offering nonstop service to Belize.
The new service arrives after a tough year for Belize’s airlift, with Spirit and JetBlue pulling routes and American Airlines reducing service earlier in 2026.
WestJet adds Winnipeg
Canadian travelers have a new option with WestJet’s weekly nonstop from Winnipeg, launching December 14, 2026. It joins WestJet’s existing service from Toronto and Calgary.
Air Canada returns from Montreal
Air Canada’s seasonal route from Montreal to Belize City returns on December 6, 2026, operating weekly on Mondays. The connection also allows UK travelers to reach Belize from London Heathrow and regional UK airports in a single day, without an overnight stop or a transit through the United States.
Discover Airlines brings Europe closer
Discover Airlines, the Lufthansa Group’s leisure carrier, will become the first European airline to serve Belize. Flights from Frankfurt begin December 16, 2027, operating twice weekly on Thursdays and Sundays through mid April 2028. The southbound flight stops in San José, Costa Rica, while the return flies direct from Belize to Frankfurt. Tickets are expected to go on sale in December 2026.
Flying south within Belize
Domestic travelers heading to Toledo can still reach Punta Gorda, with Maya Island Air taking over the route after Tropic Air ended its service.
Where to stay when you land
With more ways to get here, the next question is where to stay. Two properties offer very different sides of Belize.
On the coast, Chabil Mar Villas on the Placencia Peninsula delivers barefoot luxury on 400 feet of private beachfront. With 19 villas and a honeymoon suite facing the Caribbean Sea, two infinity pools, a private dock and al fresco dining, it’s an ideal base for snorkeling, island hopping and exploring southern Belize.
Inland, Villa Massis in Bullet Tree Falls offers jungle luxury villas on the Mopan River, just 10 minutes from San Ignacio. Guests can enjoy the pool, kayaking and river tubing, the waterfront restaurant and bar, and an on site tour desk run by Belize Hub Tours for trips to Xunantunich, the ATM cave and other Cayo adventures. Book at www.villamassis.com, by emailing info@villamassis.com or by calling or messaging +501 614 1506.
For the full Belize experience, split your stay between the two, with the jungle first and the beach to finish.
