At the San Ignacio Welcome Center, the second day will commence, in the Cayo District, at 10:00 a.m., on December 2nd, 2012. Entrance is free and visitors will have lots to enjoy, from the culturally influenced “Food Fest,” to the smoldering Barbeque “Grill Master Competition.” This competition gives amateur chefs the chance to prove their skills in front of the best in the business and before their largest audience! Whether you are a foodie barbeque fanatic, or not, this competition will inspire your inner cook.

History:
“Taste of Belize” is Belize Tourism Board’s culinary signature event, geared toward setting a higher standard and demand for excellence in Belize’s culinary art plateau. First launched in 2002, it has continuously grown in popularity both internationally and locally. Another historic move toward expansion has led to the change of venue, from Belize City to the Cayo District.
The fusion of cultural dishes provides visitors with a true sense of Belize’s diversity. Creativity is a must, and a variety of secret ingredients challenges these chefs to add depth to their already unique Belizean dish. The winner then walks away with the title of, “Belize’s Master Chef”.
