A press conference has been scheduled for Thursday just before the start of the motorcade at the Biltmore Hotel, where it will begin. Biles is expected to address the Belizean media and speak about her experience in Rio as well as her connection with the country, her plans while here, and what lies ahead for the young, talented gymnast.

The motorcade will begin at 4:00 p.m. local time and will make its way through a number of principal streets before ending at the Battlefield Park in downtown Belize City. It will also include representatives from various sporting associations in the country including athletes from a wide range of sports including volleyball, cycling, bodybuilding, martial arts, football and track and field. Several youth and women’s groups will also be in attendance. An official welcome ceremony will be held for Biles at the park. The event will include family entertainment and a welcome address.

The tourism board has frequently used Twitter as a medium for marketing, extending invitations to several celebrities including Steve Harvey and DJ Khaled over the past year. Biles, however, is the only one to have taken up the BTB on its offer. The BTB is hoping to promote Belize as a premier destination and travel choice through the venture.
