Tropic Air delivers international flights to Chetumal
Tropic Air will soon be offering flights to and from Chetumal, Quintana Roo, Mexico from the Belize International Airport in Belize City.
The non-stop service will commence January 16, 2017 and will be the only scheduled international flight between the two historically close cities.
Chetumal is a modern midsize city that borders northern Belize and has a population of more than 200,000 people, nearly as many people as in the entire country of Belize.
According to Tropic Air, Chetumal will become Tropic’s third destination in Mexico and its 6th international route.
Tropic Air intends to fly the route three times weekly, with a schedule that will allow for fast, convenient connections to/from the existing InterJet flights between Chetumal and Mexico City.
In April 2017, the frequency is planned to increase to five times a week. In Belize City, Tropic Air will also offer easy connections to/from domestic destinations such as San Pedro, Caye Caulker, Dangriga and Placencia.
John Greif III, President of Tropic Air said, “Our customers have been asking for this for years, so we have been working closely with our partners in Chetumal to finally make it a reality. We are excited!”
“Not only will Belizeans be able to fly directly to Chetumal, but this route connects to the rest of the world, especially Asia, through Mexico City’s hub,” said Steve Schulte, Tropic Air CEO.
The new service will be bookable at a special introductory price via their website: www.tropicair.com, via e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org, by phone at (501) 226-2626, or by contacting any of their stations.
