Belize Welcomes its First Superyacht, Aiming to Elevate Tourism

In a bid to boost tourism and diversify its offerings, Belize is all set to host its first superyacht. This move marks the commencement of the nation’s collaboration with luxury yachts, following in-depth conversations between the Ministry of Tourism and the Yacht Brokers Association of America.

The Minister of Tourism and Diaspora Relations, Anthony Mahler, shed light on the undertaking. “We’ve worked diligently in fostering ties with the Yacht Brokers Association. Recently, we engaged in talks with around 12 to 15 of them. As a result, we are poised to accommodate our inaugural mega yacht for a considerable duration,” he expressed.

According to the Minister, the forthcoming yacht will span an impressive 120 feet, finding its home in Belize waters for its stay. Minister Mahler emphasized the importance of maintaining the ongoing dialogue with relevant stakeholders.

Highlighting the synergy between the public and private sectors, Mahler remarked, “We have built a robust bond with our private sector, with individuals who have passionately invested in Belize’s tourism landscape. It’s pivotal that we accord them the deserved respect and regard. Our commitment is not just to them but also to the destinations that represent Belize’s charm.”
