Belize Festival: International Costa Maya 2012

During August 2nd-5th, exquisite beauties of the Mundo Maya world-coupled with cultural activities, music, food and drinks-will intrigue audiences at this year’s San Pedro International Costa Maya Festival. Travelers, we will see you there!

The festival is designed to depict and celebrate the culture and ancestry of the Maya, encompassing Central and North American countries including: Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Mexico and Nicaragua. The bright and captivating colors are a signature part of this event, as well as the live international musical performances.

History:

The International Costa Maya Festival is a traditional event for families and persons of all ages.  First held in 1992 under the name “Sea & Air Festival”, it was organized by the San Pedro-Chamber of Commerce.  It is the unity of the Mundo Maya world which makes this particular festival, one of the largest and most anticipated annual events throughout Belize.

  • Miss Costa Maya International Pageant.
  • The Opening Gala and Live Entertainment segment.
  • Live Performances by Kevin Lyttle and Peru’s “Los Pasteles Verdes”.
  • Fiesta en La Playa- along with the DJs.
  • Beach Volleyball and other beach activities.
