Belize One of the Best Dressed at Olympics Opening Ceremonies

The London 2012 Olympics Opening Ceremonies kicked off on Friday, July 27, 2012, and the next couple of weeks will be all about the athletics, but the main focus on Friday night was on the pageantry of the games and the outfits of the athletes.

There are 204 participating countries at the London Olympics of which 22 are from the Caribbean region, including Belize. Each country had their athletes dressed in their best attire for the opening ceremonies and some even had top designers work on their uniforms. According to the Great Lakes Prep website Belize was one of the Best Dressed of the Olympics Ceremonies.

This is what the website had to say about Belize: “The contrasting piping on the blazer sets this jacket off.  The tie, the jacket, the pants and the shoes are all a great combination.” During the opening ceremonies Belize’s flag bearer was Kenneth Medwood and proudly held the national flag as he lead the contingent in the athletes parade at the Olympic Stadium July 27, 2012.
