Kevin Quischan has made a career of capturing those beautiful moments, and he’s been sharing them with the rest of the world under the Instagram alias @belizemytravels. He grew up in the quaint village of Bullet Tree Falls in the Cayo District where he discovered his love for photography.

While he has a clear appreciation for photographing famous landmarks like Half Moon Caye and the Great Blue Hole — and an appreciable skill for capturing their sense of scale in unique ways — there’s a clear level of intimacy to his photographs. Whether he’s capturing a paid wedding photograph or getting up close and personal with Belizean villagers, he closes in on the decisive moment. In fact, Kevin volunteers to photograph festivals and other events throughout Placencia as a way to hone his skills and spread his passion for the Belizean lifestyle.

But his passion for capturing life on the streets through portraits and photos of festivals sits comfortably alongside a confident portfolio of more commercial works. While not pursuing his own career as a photographer, Kevin is the social media manager for The Family Coppola Hideaways. It’s a task that allows him to fulfill his own passions while also promoting the beauty of Belize to the rest of the world. It’s certainly a nice step up from his old jobs crunching numbers and working in human resources.

Kevin is also clearly interested in exploring the cutting edge of photographic technology. He’s an active drone photographer leveraging his skills to bring Belize’s natural assets to film like never before. He was even the first photographer to capture the first drone image of Victoria Peak.

Kevin Quischan is understandably becoming a recognizable name in the Instagram world thanks to the continuing success of BelizeMyTravels, but that doesn’t mean that he’s hard to find. Kevin’s talent with a camera is married with a passion for his home country, and you’re likely to bump into him at any of the big events in Placencia Village.
