ADO & Fuente Del Norte Bus Services Make a Comeback in Belize

The Belizean government has recently announced the much-awaited return of ADO and Fuente Del Norte bus services to Belize. This development promises to enhance regional connectivity and offer a plethora of travel options for both local and international visitors.
From May 1st, 2023, ADO will connect Belize City with Mexico’s Merida and Cancun, while Fuente Del Norte will link Belize City to Flores and Guatemala City starting April 21st, 2023. These services will unlock seamless access to the mesmerizing landscapes, dynamic cultures, and fascinating histories of these neighboring countries.
To safeguard local bus operators, the Belizean government has imposed strict regulations on these foreign bus companies, including mandatory road service permits, passenger manifests, restrictions on local commuter transportation, and limiting their services to ticketed Belizean passengers en route to Mexico or Guatemala.
Despite these measures, ADO and Fuente Del Norte have been authorized to operate in Belize, with ADO launching its services at the Belize City Bus Terminal and Fuente Del Norte establishing designated stops in San Ignacio and Belize City.
The revival of ADO and Fuente Del Norte bus services in Belize heralds a new era of regional travel, inviting visitors to immerse themselves in the diverse cultural and natural wonders of Central America. Whether it’s marveling at Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula aboard an ADO bus or traversing Guatemala’s awe-inspiring landscapes with Fuente Del Norte, there has never been a better time to venture into this enchanting region.
Boasting a rich tapestry of attractions, from ancient Maya ruins and pristine beaches to lush, wildlife-filled rainforests, Central America offers a treasure trove of experiences waiting to be discovered.
